The answer to many questions at PROD is ‘branch and price’ - but not all of them. Last week, Timo Helfers and Jörn Serrer took part in a VHB workshop on metaheuristics at the University of Mainz. The course, led by Franz Rothlauf, offered an exciting insight into the world of heuristics: When to choose which heuristic? And how do you recognise a good one?
Timo Helfers also presented the topic of his dissertation and was able to gather valuable feedback. Our aim is to bring the topic of heuristics from Mainz to Hanover more often in the future and allow our students to participate.
